Born in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, to former ski bum parents, Crystal Wright was on wooden skis careening down the driveway by age two. She spent idyllic summers in the remote town of Pinedale, Wyoming, barrel racing and showing horses and winters ski racing in Jackson. By age 15 she worked her way up the ski racing ranks and joined the Western Elite Ski Team where she spent the next five years traveling with the U.S. Ski Team throughout Europe and South America. Crystal then shifted gears while attending Montana State University, where she raced NCAA skiing and competed on the Rodeo team. After graduation, she headed back to the mountains to pursue her goals as a professional big mountain skier. In 2009 she won her first Freesking World Tour and then repeated in 2012 along with racking up 25 career podiums to date. Today, she is transitioning more to ski mountaineering, where she looks forward to following her passion of pushing herself in the mountains. Find more info on Crystal at
